Lessons in Loss - Training Modules
Building Grief Literate Schools
he Lessons in Loss® training programme is a CPD-certified series of professional development modules designed to give school staff the knowledge, confidence and practical strategies to understand and respond to grief, bereavement and significant loss.
Created by former primary headteacher and Grief Recovery Method Specialist Deborah Brown, the training combines educational expertise, real-life case studies and evidence-informed practice to help staff recognise how grief may affect children and create a compassionate, grief-aware school community.
Each module includes approximately one hour of video training, supported by high-quality downloadable resources, reflection activities and practical tools that can be used immediately within your setting.
Topics include understanding grief and loss, recognising how grief can affect behaviour, supporting grieving children, responding to critical incidents, understanding different types of grief and developing a whole-school approach.
Whether schools are beginning to develop their approach to grief and bereavement or strengthening existing practice, the Lessons in Loss® training programme provides practical, accessible and CPD-certified professional development to help staff feel prepared for the conversations and situations they may face.
