Whole school intervention
When a school community is affected by a significant loss, bereavement or critical incident, knowing how to respond can feel overwhelming.
Our Lessons in Loss® team can provide in-person support to help schools navigate these difficult times with care, sensitivity and confidence. We work alongside senior leaders and staff to understand what has happened, consider the needs of the school community and help put appropriate support in place.
Support can include guidance for senior leaders, staff briefings, practical resources, advice around communicating with children and families, and age-appropriate support for children.
Every situation is different, so our whole-school intervention is tailored to the individual needs of the school. Our aim is to provide a calm, compassionate and practical presence at a time when staff may also be affected by the loss themselves.
You do not have to navigate a difficult school loss alone. We can work alongside you to help your school community feel supported, informed and cared for.
Full trust support
Lessons in Loss® can work alongside Multi-Academy Trusts to develop a consistent and compassionate approach to grief, bereavement and loss across all of their schools.
Support can be tailored to the needs of the Trust and may include in-person training, leadership guidance, whole-school support, staff development and practical resources to help schools feel prepared when children experience bereavement, loss or significant change.
Working across the Trust helps create a shared understanding, consistent language and clear approaches, while recognising that every school community is different and may need different levels of support.
