Lesson 2: Treasured Things This session helps children explore why ordinary objects can become incredibly important because of the people, memories and experiences connected to them. Through Leo's Lucky Keyring, children consider how losing a treasured possession can bring feelings of sadness and loss that may be about much more than the object itself. Through storytelling, discussion, creative activities and exploring treasured objects, children are encouraged to think about what gives something meaning and why different people treasure different things. The emphasis is not on replacing what has been lost, but on recognising that the memories and relationships connected to something special can remain even when the object itself is gone.
