Description
How Television & Film Can Be Used to Support Children Through Loss. This free module explores how television and film can be used as a starting point for conversations about grief, death and loss with children and young people. Using clips from television programmes and films, the module considers how stories and characters can help children explore emotions, behaviour, relationships, death and different experiences of loss without having to talk immediately about their own experiences. The module includes examples from Pipkins, Up, Charlotte's Web, The Snowman and The Rugrats, considering what each can teach us about grief and how adults can use these stories to open up honest, supportive conversations.
