Description
Number Frame Style is the main alternative to the ‘5 Style’ approach of filling an Egg Box. Once the children are familiar with this approach to filling an Egg Box then they can start to use the images to represent and visualise odd and even numbers. In this approach, the box is filled in a more conventional ‘sharing’ approach, where each additional cube is place either directly above or next to the previous one. The arrangement is created as ‘one more than’ but also allows other visuals to be the explored. E.g. ‘7’ is 6+1 (or one more than 6) but can also be seen as 4 (on the top) + 3 (on the bottom).
